I told my friend about things I did in the past in confidence and he ran a blabbed his mouth to the exact person I didn't want to find out. But he and I have been friends for ten years. What should I do?

If you told your friend that u didnt want that person to know then u should confront your friend. Ask your friend why they told this person? Maybe your friend told to hurt you or maybe it was just an accident. You should defenitly ask your friend why they did that though and if they dont give a good enough answer then you should end the friendship, because that sucks...Hope this helps!

Did he tell the person your secret because he thought he was helping?
If it is possible that your friend believed that by telling the other person he was doing you a favour, whether by him thinking it may change the way the other person treats you or something, then make it clear to him you do no longer trust him but you do understand why he did it.
If it is out of malice or gossip however, it doesn't matter that you have been friends for ten years. The friendship is obviously not worth holding on to as he does not respect you.

If his friendship still have any meaning for you, continue to be friends, but know when it comes to dark secrets of any kind, he is not the one who is capable of keeping them. Just enjoy yourself as before.

Express your disapointment(sp). You thought you could trust this friend with this secret, and they broke the trust. After you express your disapointment(sp), distance yourself from them to see what they do. If they care about you and feel guilty, your friend will come to you seeking your forgiveness. If they don't come around, I guess its time to move on.

If he went and told after you told him not to, then that shows that he was never a true friend. Sorry that is the truth. Good Luck!

You shouldn't be his friend anymore. If he told your deep secret you can't trust him with other things. If he was your friend, he would respect your privacy.

There is nothing you can do... If it was a secret you didn't want told... YOU should have kept your mouth shut....
