Everyone knows that Iran and the US are on bad terms. Fact is that Iran, their president, doesn't like the US or Israel.
From this article, it seems that Iran and Venezuela want to hurt the US economy. So there for, it would be in the best interest of Iran to provoke a war between Iran and Israel and/or the US. If we are dragged into a war with Iran, the price of Oil would go higher, and our economy would be for fragile.
Any thoughts?
Please read the article, no stupid comments please!

Expat, wow, a mouth full. Fleeing the country b/c you're scared of the president? hmm, sounds libral to me.
It's people like you that make MY country week. I would give my life in a heart beat, i put my life on the line so that others don't have to. What we are going through is real, people don't realize that. They are out there, they want us dead, plain and simple. If you don't believe me, take a trip over to Iraq/Iran wearing an American flag, spend a week there, if you make it out of there, well....u won't.
When a nation is divided, it's easy to destroy. That is what iran knows and that's what they are doing. Just by the shear fact that we are even debating this, they are winning.
I'm glad you left, b/c if I die in the name of MY country, the USA, it won't be for you! And I feel sorry for what ever country you moved to.

No war is going to happen between the US and Iran. First President Bush would have to get Congressional approval to launch an attack on Iran. There is no way that is going to happen.
Second, Iran doesn't want an open confrontation with the US anymore then Venezula does. What they want is the worldwide image of being the nations that are 'Standing up to the Americans'.
Third, Iran is not fool enough to launch a nuclear attack on the US or Israel. Both nations have enough fire power to turn Iran into a glowing parking lot for a millenium.
This is old fashioned sabre rattling and posturing, nothing more.
By the way, your link is dead.

First off, your link is not dead if you click on the link on the bottom of your page.
Second, Iran would be crazy to join forces with Venezuela and attack the US. It would be a death sentence for both countries and would cripple.
Thirdly, if Iran takes any action against us or Israel, the whole world would be against them getting Nukes, and they want them. Fourth, the price of oil is driven by the consumer by supply and demand just as any stock is! No body is complaining that Microsoft stock is so expensive because they don't use it on a day to day basis! I agree that the price of oil is to high, but we, the American people can do something about it!
We could drill for oil in Alaska where if we took up a mere 2000 square acres, we could replace our dependency on foreign oil. You won't hear that on CNN! To many nutjob activists are out there worried that we might hurt some form of animal or tree so they keep the rest of us from profiting from the gains! If our economy fails, I could really give 2 rats asses whether or not some owl goes extinct and frankly, that wouldn't happen in a 2000 square acre area! AND the pipelines that are in place are actually becomming breeding grounds for the wildlife because they make the immediate area around them warmer!
I don't know much but one thing I do know is that these leftist activist groups need to shut the heck up and we need to become a freakin Nation, united... together!

Your economy is fragile already. First, second, and now third mortgages are the norm. Your new car spending has just taken a dramatic drop because people are overextended and resell values are shot because no one can afford to drive an SUV except the dummies who are lucky enough to still have a bit of credit left. Your average credit card debt is somewhere in the 20,000's. Many families are getting wiped out because their insurance companies are dropping them if they get a catastrophic illness. Your national deficit because of this futile war you are fighting is somewhere around 9 trillion and that is nothing compared to the long term costs you have incurred from this war, one being permanent medical care for your veterans, if that happens, and the hit to your economy because other countries of the world are boycotting your exports and investments. Add to that your loss of competitiveness in the world because your educational budgets have been slashed to nothing and you are spitting out graduates that can barely read or spell. That is bound to have major long term effects. If Iran does choose to provoke you into to war with them they will not only have the support of Venezuela, but also China, Russia and the many other countries that hate you enough to fight you. And sadly, the nations that have always stood beside you will turn their backs because you have broken all the rules of the Geneva Convention and scoffed at the UN. Your only hope is to elect an intelligent person that is willing to eat crow in front of the world and actually listen to the countries that have a problem with your policies. Unfortunatley your country has turned into a radical, fundementalist, nuthouse and the only way you are going to survive in the modern world is to experience many more events like 9/11 until you realize that America is not the almighty nation that your propaganda spewers tell you that it is. Good luck on that.

Israel and the US don't like them either, hardly think that's a good reason to be "dragged" into war. I also think that being independent of the US economy is hardly "wanting to hurt it". But even if it is, the US makes decisions to hurt other countries economies(at a minimum) all the time.
Still not a good reason for war. Doesn't this sound exactly like the prelude to Iraq?
The big problem is that OPEC is thinking about selling oil in Euros instead of usd because the dollar is so devalued. That's a bigger problem than Iran or Venezuela.

The qustion itself is stupid and is the result of vexatious propagana of west through theier non sense powerful acrimoneous press, a creation of their sick mind.It is strange that u are thinking of oil prices and not the lives of millions of people to be killed in uncalled. for proposed war. This is the question of a mad mind

Well, you are right in the sense that Iran and Venezuela want to hurt the US economy. However, engaging in a war with Israel or the US is not in their best interest. They can simply hurt the US economy by raising the price of their oil. It's as simple as that (and they are doing it right now!). Furthermore, if the Iranians engage in battle with the US, they will surely lose - and that's a bye bye to their nuclear weapons program. They are trying to delay any action against the US and Israel until they have these deadly weapons they can use. Any premature attack would cripple them.

Your link is fine. The US would lose a lot if they change from dollars to euro. I believe this was Saddam's only mistake too. He wanted to change, next thing you know he's being invaded.
