So I'm a teenage girl and I've been on birth control for almost a year (it has nothing to do with having sex! I'm anemic). My last period was very short and light. About the middle of my cycle I started to get spotting which I thought was perfectly normal. It's not really like a period, it's very light and brown, but this has been going on for 11 days now. I know that right before it started I wasn't being very regular with taking my pills on time. I would take them a few hours off from the day before for a few days, but I never missed one. I figured this was fine when it started. I know some girls get it while they are ovulating and it can be caused by taking your pills late. It just kind of concerns me that this has been going on for 11 days. It always seems like its so light that it might stop the next day or even that day, but it doesn't seem to really be going away. I don't know if there's something wrong or what.

Anybody know anything about this?

It could be totally normal, but if you already have health problems, and it's been going on for so long, I wouldn't risk it. Call your gynecologist. It doesn't cost anything to call, and they can tell you whether you should be concerned or not. Don't let yourself worry for so long, though, it's your health, it's important, don't be afraid to ask a professional! Do you have access to a gynecologist?

Alright, not to tease you, but I really don't know anything about this, but, as you said, it's normal for it short, light, and brown, but if this is concerning you so much, look it up on line and see if it's serious enough to to a doctor if it's last 11 days

Maybe the discharge is an infection - is it pong-y? Nasty smell? Then it is an infection and can be remedied by a dr giving you a prescription.

Go see/call a doctor ANYWAY. Please. That is why they have 8 plus years of schooling and we don't. They tell us answers.
