I think that since he started as well as spent most of his career with the Braves, he might as well spend his last year with the Braves. I don't think he will have the kind of year with the Braves that he had in years past, but he should have a solid enough year for them. He is one of the best players in Braves history, and he will likely have his #47 retired by the team, so why shouldn't he finish his career there?

It's a nice way to close out a hall of fame career. He is obviosuly not the pitcher he was 10 years ago, but he's still go something left in the tank. Between Hudson, Smoltz and Glavine, the Braves have a pretty good, albeit old starting 3, and Chuck James is going to be a decent pitcher too. I do think that they are likely to fall short of the playoffs again in 2008, but largely due to a weak offense and not their rotation. Andruw Jones is gone, and they traded Renteria with no clear replacement in house, which basically leaves Francouer, Teixeria and Chipper, who is getting old as well, and i don't think thats enough to take down the Phils or the Mets, but time will tell

Adding glavine to the rotation is not going to eliminate the braves from the division he is going to be a key part in winning the division braves did not have enough consistant pitching last year this will help greatly he is getting older but he has never been a power pitcher he is a location pitcher and he will be relaxed in ATL and have a great season

this is a perferct move for tom, and for the braves. glavine is still a good pitcher and the braves need more pitching. they have this off-season changed a weakness of pitching, to a group of 3-4 guys who are quality but they will still have to get some luck with another pitcher or to.
there pitchers
1. glavine
2. smoltz
3. hudson
4. jair jurrjiens
5. anybody has a shot

The news of Glavine returning to Atlanta makes for a nice story; his career has come full circle. In my honest opinion, I think Glavine will go 12-14 next year. He will not have a winning season to end his Hall of Fame career.

Glavine wants to end his career as a Brave and go the HOF with a Braves cap, and that is how it should be. Since he is on the downside of a great career I believe you will see a further decline in his numbers.

Personally I don't think he has much left in his tank... I think he will get 8-12 wins... Going back to the braves is a stellar way for glavine to end his career though.

As a Braves fan, I didn't really want him to come back for next year. Not because I'm one of the "I hate TG because he left us for the mets for more money" people but because he is at the end of his career and the Braves need to go after young guys that they have a future with.
Loved TG when he was here but its time for him to be done.

im glad to see he's back to the A-town to end his amazing career.
Hudson, Smoltz, Glavine sounds good but the Braves will probably not win the division. the Mets and Phillies are solid

He cetainly is not the same pitcher he was when he was with them the last time. It is good because he could pitch one more season in a Braves uniform and retire in a Braves uniform.
