I feel for you, I do. Ended up getting so bad for me that I declared I had no family and lived that way until after my mother passed away. I added their numbers to my blocked callers list, and had done with it.
Best decision I ever made.
I was expected to drop everything and do what they needed, but they couldn't return the favor, help me out when I needed it or even remember to call on my birthday (that was the final straw - she said she was ""too tired").

My way was a bit radical, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, but possibly just not answering the phone would help - if they can't tell you that they need help, etc, then they can't guilt you into helping.

This is a particularly important time for you - a lot is riding on your grades - don't let a pushy family jeopardize that, ok?

Obviously you have pressing issues that need to be taken care of first. Your studies are very important for your future. Don't let them guilt you into doing something you don't have time to do. Yes, family is supposed to be there for each other, but not at the expense of your education. I am sure these favors can be done at a later time or possibly by someone else at this time.

You are DEFINITELY not doing anything wrong, so stop beating yourself up. You are of legal age to do any sexual activities and it was with your boyfriend, not some guy off the street. Your mother would have given you that strange look because it will be really weird for her to know her daughter is "doing those things". Imagine you saw hickeys on HER neck, wouldn't you give her a weird look? I know I would. It will be difficult for her to accept her little girl is a sexually active adult but obviously you enjoy doing sexual things with your boyfriend - it's natural! Don't stop what you're doing but maybe next time wear a turtleneck or a scarf before spending time with Mom!

If you are making too many personal sacrifices, then yes, it is a bad thing. You need to take care of yourself first, and then your family. If these family members would also return the favor for you, without question, then I think you might feel more obligated. But really, put yourself first. If you can not help them because you are doing something you truly need to do for yourself, and they don't understand, then they are taking advantage of you. Good luck!

Do what you can. If you are not able to help your family because school is keeping you busy, just let them know you're sorry but you have other priorities to attend to.

Good luck.

I've been in this situation a few too many times myself.

well,it depends!did they do many favors for you?are you the only person that can do these favors?are they always asking you for favors, cause you always did them?
start learning to say,no!tell them that you have to study for your exams, but you will do them the favor, after the exams!
and babe...that's what family is for,to do favors for each other!but not,if they only ask you to do them and never care if you can do them or not!

I lived that way for many years. It is not healthy and you must stand up for your God given rights to have your own needs met. #1 always comes first.

over time this could really end up hurting you...you should try talking to your parents or family members how you feel and how this is really affecting you in school and your social life.

can impose to the point of
robbing you of your life.
