Why would the English want independence, may I ask? We ARE an independent country and have ruled over nearly the whole world in the past, therefore, stealing those countries independence. Countries like India only regained their independence 60 years ago, having to be ruled by Britain and many Indians were slaves to them! Therefore, as a country, we should be ashamed of taking away all those countries freedom, so please don't talk about England wanting independence!!!!

Actaully if you are talking about the Monarchy.. the Queen is just a symbol... she has no actuall power... whatever she wants to do must be first approved by the British government.. it is not like in the old days anymore...

lol, who would they want to be independant from? I suppose if I lived there I wouldn't want to be part of the EU, but it isn't like they are subject to some foreign power.

I agree with your first answer independence from who? It is the other countries in the United Kingdom that want it from us and let them have it with no caveats at all. They can try and run their own countries with their paltry tax income while we revel in ours (that isn't being spent on them). Let England be independent and see Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland come squirming back for help.
