I the book "Night" Wiesel says: “I watched helplessly as language became an obstacle.”?

In this situation, how might language be an obstacle for an educated, talented person such as Wiesel?

Please answer and give me your opinion, I love this book!

I also loved the book - I read it in less than two days. :-)

Personally, I think that language becomes an obstacle when situations present themselves that are SO horrific or SO emotionally wrenching that words are inadequate vehicles to describe the matters at hand.
