In this situation, how might language be an obstacle for an educated, talented person such as Wiesel?

I also loved the book - I read it in less than two days. :-)

Personally, I think that language becomes an obstacle when situations present themselves that are SO horrific or SO emotionally wrenching that words are inadequate vehicles to describe the matters at hand.

speaking a different language than someone else would be a barrier.
