I'm currently doing 250 to 300 km per tank of gas, i've cleaned out my system a month ago with one of those gas mileage cleaners that u put in your fuel tank. Ive also changed the coolant temp gauge and checked for leaks. The car doesn't idle funny either. The air filter was changed recently and the oil filter as well. The spark plugs were last changed a year and a half ago. I used to do 600 to 650 km could the spark plugs still be the problem? I'm a student who can't afford the high gas prices, please help!

With all the things you have said you have done, it is a possibility that the catalytic coverter could be stopped up. They will rob gas mileage something terrible when they are stopped up. I just replaced the one in my pickup, when I did, my mileage went from 12 to 20 mpg.

Plugs, wires, distributor cap or insides, or it could be in your air sytem. How is your PCV valve or air temp sensor

Most cars today are computer controlled to keep them running by adjusting. It sounds like tune up time to me.

Check your fuel pump, a hole in its diaphragm will pump fuel into the crankcase, killing your MPG.
