Number 1 pick in the draft, will probably a $30M contract based on what Russel got from the Raiders and live in Miami? You're freaking right I'd take that.

Well, if the Dolphins chose me with the #1 pick, chances are I wasn't expecting to be drafted until the third round, so I'd be thrilled. Plus, there aren't a lot of players on that roster that would keep a decent player out of the starting lineup. And hey, once I got sick of all the losing I could just start smoking a lot of weed and get suspended, knowing I could come back whenever I needed more money.

I'd look it as an opportunity to turn around a once-storied franchise, not a death sentence with a terrible team.
Given how quickly teams can turn things around in today's NFL, there's nothing that says the Dolphins can't again be a good team in a few years. Chances are that you'd be given an immediate opportunity to start and make an impact, and it's tough to ask for more than that when you come into the league. You're also going to one of the nicer geographic locales in the league, where you get to play your games and take practice in warm weather.
I'd jump at the chance to be #1, regardless of where it meant playing. To me, it's just part of the game.

the Dolphins are a franchise rich with history and legendary players. I would play for them in a minute. They are having an unusually dreadful year though they have struggled ever since Marino retired. Marino never had a decent running game, then the Fins have Williams who did whatever he did but then Ronnie Brown came into play but no QB. If they can pull themselves together and get a decent QB, I think they can turn the franchise around. They were silly for not drafting a QB instead of Ginn. But sure, I would play for them.

Miami still has the ownership in place that's committed to win (not just make $) so the Dolphins should come back in a few years. I'd be happy to play for them.
BTW - I really don't like the Dolphins, I'm a Pats fan, so take that for what it's worth.

i think the dolphins will win a few games and the #1 pick will fall to the Patriots.
But regardless, a college player should play for whichever team picks him. Why would E. Manning wanna b in N.Y is the question I can never answer. N.Y has a suck *** weather, suck *** fans who demands too much. he should have gone to SD where the weather is better.

Elway and E Manning were idiots.... Elway would have had quicker SB appearances in Indy.. (though, as a Colt fan I am happy we have P Manning)
E Manning would have a chance at a SB with SD already,, no chance with the giants.
Play with the team that drafts you... dont be such an arrogant SOB...
just MHO

if there was a sure #1 pick, i would say maybe. but right now, there is no #1. and it depends on the player. if they want to make an impact right away, they should play for the dolphins. if they would rather wait around and hope they get a chance to play, they should go somewhere else. besides, its miami, whats not to like (besides the lack of winning)???

I'd play for them...absolutely...you have the opportunity to be the building block for a franchise...Miami has a tremendous history...and pretty good weather...
Oh yea, how's that working out for Eli and how long did it take for Elway to win his rings?

if a team was willing to take me before anyone else in college as the #1 overall pick, i would honor the selection. all teams go through cycles. certain teams are bad for a while, then are horrible a few years later. it might be a frustrating early career, but at least i could say i was the #1 overall pick and honored my team's selection.
