MVP ballots have ten votes, however I'm only including down to third-places.
Top ten finishers
1. Rodriguez (NYY) 26 2 0 -- 382 points
2. Ordonez (DET) 2 22 4 -- 258
3. Guerrero (LAA) 0 3 10 -- 203
4. Ortiz (BOS) 0 1 11 -- 177
5. Lowell (BOS) 0 0 1 -- 126
6. Posada (NYY) -- 112
7. Martinez (CLE) -- 103
8. Suzuki (SEA) -- 89
9. Pena (TAM) 0 0 2 -- 64
10. Granderson (DET) -- 51
I honestly have no quibbles with this voting whatsoever. I think the writers nailed it. Good to see Pena get some third-place recognition, he had a helluva year, the one many of us had expected back around 2002. Hope he keeps it up.

This was about as close to a no-brainer as you're going to find, and I'm only surprised that Alex wasn't unanimous. Tough loss for Mags, though, whose numbers in most other years would almost certainly have been worthy of taking the award.
Good job by the voters, in my opinion. Similar to you, I have no beefs about how the vote turned out.

I was the very MOST excited to see Granderson at #10. He sure deserved that recognition. I figured A Rod would win and he deserved in spite of the play offs. Ordonez deserved to be second as well and it may have been closer if the Tigers had made the play offs. Good to know Polanco got some votes as well. Thanks for the info!

Well i expected it...who didn't expect it with the season he had. i WANTED Magglio to get it, but i knew he wouldn't. Glad Ordonez got over 250 points. I honestly expected him to get only about 225. I didn't want A-Rod to get it because hes so egotistical. I mean it's good to be proud of what you do, and what he did was amazing, but the way he acts a lot of the time is ridiculous and uncalled for. I mean the amount of money he asked for is just a prime example of what an unclassy baseball player he is. He has sooo much talent that has just gotten to his head. Magglio Ordonez on the other hand is really cool and more classy, and i admire him for that.

I have no problems with that.
Alex simply had better numbers.
Good to see Mags get 1st place votes though.
And as far as Carlos Pena goes I hated to see The Tigers give up on him. I've been one of his very few fans here in the Detroit area.

it should have been unanimous - and I am a red sox fan. A-Rod carried that team for 3 months. Much more deserved than his other 2 (Ortiz should have won last time, and no one on a last place team should ever win one).

Not taking anything away from Mags' season, the guys who voted for him must have something personal against A-Rod. He carried the Yankees all year, right into the playoffs. That is something that Mags' could not do. Should have been unanimous but considering all the Yankee Haters out there, I guess he was lucky to get recognized at all.

This was a foregone conclusion and I am thrilled as a Yankees fan and an A-Rod fan. He deserved it. He had a ridiculous year.
My theory has been that they Yanks would announce that his new deal is official right after he was named MVP. I'm expecting that announcement today (also thrilled with that).

A-Rod being the 2007 MVP, is a foregone conclusion before the balloting took place. He got on a tear in April, and never looked back. He never had to.

It was never going to be anyone else. I don't blame the guys for voting for Maglio, he had a great season. But Arod was the guy.

A-Rod was the MVP hands down but it seems like most people who deserved to be named, were named.
