About one month ago, I had my starter replaced in my car at my repair shop. I was having an intermittent no-start situation.

I'm noticing the problem again. I want to call the repair shop, but I'm wondering what should I expect from them during this process? Do you think it would be under warranty?

First of all,
The shop may have repaired a problem that was related to the intermittent start.
You could call the shop and speak with them and let them know that you are still having the problem, they may be outgoing enough to fix the problem, but generally if they don't fix the problem and it's noticeable right away then they have little to stand on but to fix the problem. After a month down the road they generally aren't legally responsible for the problem anymore.
It sounds like a charging system problem like the alternator, but without more information I couldn't tell you anything more.

As far as talking with the shop, that's where I would start, they will probably ask you to bring the vehicle back to them to do further checking. The warranty if any would only be on the starter, if the starter failed, but not on labor to install or get the part in.

So, first step, call the shop and let them know that you are still having problems with the intermittent start(be friendly) don't say that they didn't fix the problem or that will cause conflict, and see what they will do. Electrical problems are generally harder to fix than mechanical failures due to the nature of an electrical problem you cannot visually see the problem.

The part should be warrantied by the manufacturer of the re builder. The shop that you took it to can take care of that for you. Many of these warranties also cover labor it have the part replaced. If you go there and demand that they fix it, they may just demand that you leave. Then you'll have nothing. If you go there and tell them about your problem and ask if they'll make it right, they'll usually take care of it. If not there's recourse through the secretary of state. They handle mechanic's licensing and complaints. If you look in the shop where you had it repaired, you'll see a rather large sign that says stuff about returning the removed parts to you, and estimate information... There will be a phone number on there to call. They have to display this in a conspicuous spot.

NEVER replace any part till you know the problem.
If you requested the starter be replaced you were wrong. If they replaced the starter due to their diagnosis of the problem they were wrong and you got ripped off. You will get no refunds or exchange from them. The starter was not at fault in the beginning. This is from poor diagnosis of the problem. You have an incompentent "mekanik".
There is no indication of the age of your battery. I would first remove the battery terminals, get a battery brush at auto supply and clean the terminals and posts till they shine. Make sure battery terminals are tight on the posts and check the negative for good connection where it connects to engine ground. I believe this may solve your pronlem. This should have been done before the new starter was installed but I would bet it was not.

If they replaced the starter with a rebuilt. The least expensive type has a 3 month warranty, a better one 12-18 months warranty...take it back in...

I would not let one of shops touch my comp. unless they gave a $3000.00 deposit, causes if they screw it up they buy it. First u need t learn how t operate a comp. the right way t start with, keep it protected & do the maintenance each week, & will out last all of us..>:) Voila
