I prefer mine baked as dressing on the side. We always have made it both ways...when I was growing up my father and brother liked the stuffing from inside the turkey, but my Mom, my sister and I liked it baked on the side. So, I have always had it both ways so people had a choice.

I love stuffing in the turkey because as the turkey cooks, the juices from the bird mingle with the stuffing; however, I also make dressing on the side when I am making chicken and other meats.

I like it baked on the side. It gets a little more crisp, and I like it that way. My Mom always made some of each, because she like the moist kind stuffed in the turkey.

Baked as dressing on the side... it's a little bit drier that way. which I prefer... but either can be good if done right... I love stuffing/dressing! Oops... that sounded funny... oh well... ;-)

It is actually recommended now that you don't eat stuffing out of the turkey as there is an increased risk for salmonella. While it may taste better, there are increased risks.
