There is really no bickering between parties.
Just democrats trying to derail the entire military.

Its difficult to win a war when you don't have a target.
Who is the target of the War on Terror ? Is it Afghanistan and Iraq ? Now they want to include Iran... Is Saudi Arabia next after that ? Russia is starting to act up again... shall we add them to the list ? Oh and North Korea... lets not forget about them... I'm sure China will be more of a problem when you are done with the others... Why not wipe out Canada and Mexico too, the US needs some expansion. Some breathing room right...
How can you expect to win a war when you cannot even decide on who or what you are fighting. Terror is a concept.

You need to recognize reality, Iraq is less a terrorist war than get the foreign invader out right now. That is us. You can't declare war on all terrorist groups in the world. Simply to many of them, even for the most powerful nation in the world. If after 9-11we had declared war on Al-Queda or the Taliban together. Or if we had declared a police action to get their unrestrained and stateless terrorism under control. Well then we would have had the worlds support. Declare a global war on terror for every nation in the west without consultation them, and all you do is tick off a lot of them. The truth is a lot of them had more personal experience with it than we did before 9-11. That did include France and Germany, they resented not being consulted. This kind of war requires finesse with an iron fist behind it. Focused goals, not just point in the general direction and spray, which is what people think a shotgun is good for. Truth is even a shot gun has to be aimed to be most effective. Concentrated. That's an example. Lot's of power in a shotgun, best if aimed. Lot's of power in our military and our allies. Best if aimed as well.

No, the 'War on Terror' is an unwinnable metaphorical war, like the 'War on Drugs,' and the 'War on Poverty.'
But, yes, a united America would have a better chance of success in Iraq & Afghanistan. Just giving up on the absurd idea of a 'timetable for withdraw' (ie setting a date for the enemy's victory), would help a lot, for instance. Even /debating/ that sends a clear message that can't help but boost enemy morale.

No. We might win the conflict against Al Qaeda or the conflict in Iraq, yet 'terrorism' isn't a defeatable foe. Terrorism is a tactic utilized by potential of our enemies so as long as we've enemies (and we continually will) terrorism will nonetheless exist.

That is a point, but this is a war in witch we had no business getting our selves in. It's not like Viet Nam, where we can just leave. If the two parties worked together it would make things easier, but they both have very diff. opinions. We just need a new pres. that doesn't get off screwing over and lying to his country.

Its not up to Americans, this time out, terrorism of the fanatic type that this is, isn't going to pay the least bit of attention as to which political party is in or out. Al Qaeda and its assorted groups only want an end to religious freedom in all parts of the world. So, we could bicker, or sing Kumbaya till the cows come home, and it wouldn't make a difference at all.
They only want us dead or converted.

YES, It absolutely would be a whole lot easier to win and to show the terrorists that the USA is united instead of divided!!A divided nation will never win until they can reach a sensible compromise!!

The only way to get the American people to stick together is by giving them what they need most of all!An impartial transparent investigation in to what began this war on terror 911!
But the cons are too afraid that their hero(GWB) will be shown to be a traitor for ignoring national security and terrorism until after we were attacked!

Terrorists are always going to exist, and they will always want to attack us, especially if we are occupying holy Muslim lands and have permanent military bases dotted everywhere, not to mention the unwaivering (and sometimes looking away) support of Israel.
Every American denounces terrorism and every American wants to stop it. The problem comes with HOW we go about this. The different solutions from different parties are at odds when it comes to this, hence why you feel nothing gets done.
