I don't want to believe this crap, but I need information opposing the belief of this planet?
The only thing I have is common sense:
IF the planet does have an orbit similar to a comet's, then wouldn't the people on the planet die because it's so cold?
IF the planet did interact with our solar system some years ago, why did it collide with earth and not mars or jupiter? Especially Juptier, because of it's huge mass wouldn't it pull the planet towards it, or even stabilize it?
What the hell do the sumarians know anyway?

Excuse me, BoredAtW..

I do not believe in this planet. But, unlike most, I would like to be completely informed about it. I respect objective opinions with credible facts to decide what I want to believe.
SO don't OMG me.

That's the same as saying "I don't believe in Santa, and I want someone to give proof that he doesn't exist".

It's impossible to give informed reasons against the existence of something when there are no reasons given in favour of it to argue against.

To tell you what I can: Nibiru was the ancient Sumerian name for Jupiter. Planet X is a modern confabulation that's had many meanings, but originally one suggested by Lowell that would be a large planet far beyond Pluto. He was completely wrong, just as he was with his belief that Martians built canals to take water from the poles to the temperate zones.

A number of people have linked some unrelated ancient myths (Nibiru, the end of the current cycle of the very complex Mayan calendar, Planet X) and decided to make some money out of scaring people who just don't know.

Evidence Of Nibiru

2016-12-14 13:35:47 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

For some people, a remaining belief in Nibiru is the result of very early translations of old Sumerian documents (by ZS).

We now have lots more Sumerian texts to practice on (giving us better understanding of them) and modern translations of the same documents (as used by ZS) do not talk of a 'new' planet.

At best, we can associate Nibiru with the planet Jupiter.

In the early (ZS) translations (I use the plural because some of his 'followers' are still cranking out old-style interpretations), Nibiru would have collided with another planet (Tiamat?) and destroyed it, creating the asteroid belt, and put Nibiru on a very eccentric orbit, returning to the inner solar sytem every 3741 years (or so).

Recent 'Mayan-Calendar-Doom' charlatans have tried to link the predicted return of Nibiru with the end of a Long Count in the Mayan calendar (2102), but ZS himself puts the return of this beloved (and fictitious) planet around 2085.

As for the 'Nibiruyans' being cold, this may explain their need for gold, for which they would have populated Earth with slaves (us) at one of their earlier passages (almost half a million years ago) so that we could work their mines. We would be the result of mating (or gene manipulation -- pick your prefered fiction plot) between 'them' and our ancestors H o m o Erectus, forming the new race H o m o Sapiens.

They might be surprised, when they come back, to see that we have since unionized...

----

NASA, the IAU (and anybody else you can think of, with scientific authority) does NOT have any evidence of Nibiru's existence, because...

it ain't there.

After the discovery of Neptune, a "Planet X" was hypothesized to explain eccentricities in Neptune's orbit.

Clyde William Tombaugh decided to search for this "Planet X" and subsequently discovered Pluto in 1930.

Further out from Pluto (now designated a dwarf planet) another dwarf planet named Eris has been discovered.

There are about a dozen other objects, currently being watched, that might be given dwarf planet status. That's up to the IAU (International Astronomical Union).

If you do a "Google" search on the word nibiru, you'll notice few of the results are from credible sources (such as .edu or .gov sources) and they are filled with doomsday prophesies.
That should tell you all you need to know.

I am not a 2012er, but like most (if not all) 2012ers I do believe the world is doomed and I believe that it will happen in my lifetime. 2012ers wont completely disbelieve until after the date has passed. Then they will gap onto the next doomsday theory. The reason I believe the world is doomed is stemmed from my belief in the bible. But also from my belief, I know other things will happen first(ie.. Israel becoming a state), and (in my mind at least) a lot of those things are happening now. Witch leads me to doom sayers saying things I know to be true mixed with things that could be true if X Y and Z happen. The Planet X theory is a good one, based on what people believe will happen at the end (pole shifts, fire on Earth) would global warming cause these things? of course not, If a large object from outer space came close to the Earth, sure it would. There will always be a threat of objects from outer space, and there is nothing you can do to stop people from being scared. So the world will end tomorrow. What will you do? What can you do? The answer is nothing, If God wants you alive he will find you a way, If he wants you died you will be died. So live your life the best way you can its all you can do

First of all, I must point out, as I do nearly every day, that NASA launches rockets, they don't do astronomical research, and are not the authority on scientific results.

Nibiru does not exist as an astronomical object. For a detailed discussion of the linguistic evidence for Nibiru, see:

I do not know why you asked this question here, because we all know there is no evidence (either credible or incredible) about any such Planet X except that its definitely made of green cheese.

People will be asking us about the "faked Apollo landing" next. If you do have some common sense why do you ask such a ridiculous question. This Planet X was postulated back in the 19th century by certain people who knew nothing about these things, so not much has changed even now.

You said you did not want to belive this so don't, it's nonsense.

Nibiru, whether it exists or not is the least of your problems. The human race, if it doesn t get it s act together, is going to be extinct long before any cataclysmic event.

IF THEY knew a large object were coming at us, do you think THEY would tell us ? THEY'D pull all the stops to make sure you didn't believe a word of it. If that knowledge were leaked, what would THEY do to the leaker ? They would not want to cause a panic, instead I think THEY would run for their bunkers and leave all us peons behind to burn. So don't worry about it !

not a scrap of evidence, sorry.

believe what you want, its a free country, well, mostly. if you have money.

you might as well believe that the Sumerians read about Nibiru in a hat. (sorry, mormons!)
