I'm a loyal American living in Europe. I'll be getting together with a large group of Americans and Germans who share the belief that America is a great country. We'll be meeting in a restaurant for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on the Sunday following Thanksgiving, due to the fact that the Germans don't get Thursday off.

While Thanksgiving is an intrinsically American holiday, that isn't really what the day is about. Thanksgiving is a day when I sit down to a big meal with the people that I care most about, and count my blessings. Certainly the Nation is on the list of blessings in my life, but I believe that Thanksgiving should be more introspective than a simple show of patriotism. That's what the 4th of July is for!

I have a Dutch Heritage My family came to America in 1616 to New Amsterdam.
But that doesn't prevent me from loving Thanksgiving and all it stands for.
Remember Paul Grass? He seemed to be a solid American.

Why is Thanksgiving now about being proud to be American? I thought it was to give thanks for what you have. Now if you want to be thankful for being American fine but I don't think necessary to dismiss the holiday if your not.

I'll be having a traditional meal with my family, and watching football on TV.
If watching football on Thanksgiving isn't part of American Heritage, then I don't know what is.

"Thanksgiving represents, nay, celebrates, the white, Christian Europeans' genocidal campaign."--anonymous progressive.
I'm going to call my relatives in England and ask 'em to thank the Crown for me, then I plan to gain five lbs.
