what is good? we all must have something we do with our families, or friends...
I just say that on Christmas eve I bake cookies with my two boys...we do it all from scratch and then decorate them...when they were younger I used to take the dough and their hands and made their handprints and they just loved it...and when they got to decorate their own handprints they would just giggle with delight...oh memories. anyways yup we would sit around for 2 hours and cook and decorate and then share a plate with all our friends and neighbors and spread holiday cheer...

New tradition started for us last year.
About 2 or 3PM on Christmas Eve, I take my grandkids to a motel in their town. We swim and enjoy the afternoon. Go out for dinner, back to motel. More swimming, then sit in the room & talk. About Christmas memories, whatever. Maybe a few snacks. Crackers & cheese, maybe. Bedtime at 9PM or so. (Husband may or may not spend some time there, as the kids swim. Depends on whatever else is happening.) Husband hates motels, so he sleeps at the kids' home.
Husband and my daughter set out the toys & gifts in the evening, have lots of time to do it right, don't have to wait till kids are asleep, or need to be quiet.
In the AM, kids & I have breakfast at the motel, then drive to the kids' home, to wake everyone up there, and do the gift opening. Everyone is well rested, kids have had something to eat, so are in a good mood.
This year, for the first time, Santa isn't coming. We diiscussed it with the youngest last weekend. She agreed that Santa's not real.(She's 9.) However, she said she's hoping that a couple of her gifts will be wrapped in the special paper and tags that Santa always wraps stuff in. "For old times sake." she said.

One of my favourite Christmas traditions is driving on Christmas Eve to this street of houses that they turn into "Candy Cane Lane" during December. (They actually put that sign up over the regular street sign.) Every house on the street is decorated to the max! We park the car and walk around with all the hoards of people and look at all the houses. That's definitely my favourite tradition.

Lots! my kids and I always make a gingerbread house and have a good time decorating it. We always get one of those big tins of popcorn to eat while watching the Christmas movies on tv, we get a new decoration for our tree every year, even if its just something we made. We always drive around and go see the Christmas lights. And we like to make popcorn garlands for the birds to eat for our outside trees. I love Christmas traditions, I get to spend lots of quality time making memories with my 4 kids and boyfriend.

we always open one gift on Christmas Eve (yes when we were kids it was usually PJ's!). Also we started a tradition of going to the Christmas Eve service at church then going out for Thai food - found that Thai people usually don't celebrate Christmas so they're always open, and usually not busy at all so we have a nice, leisurely dinner. Yummmm!

I go with my family downtown to walk around and see all of the Christmas lights at several central city locations. Then we go to a cafe or back home to warm up with hot chocolate.
Christmas Eve, we reenact the nativity story together.

At the beginning of November I usually put the tree and lights up with my young daughter (I know its early but we love Christmas and want to keep them up for as long as we can). On Christmas eve we make shortbread biscuits and sliced carrots to leave out for Santa and his reindeer. On Chrissie day we head over to my Aunties for lunch and spend time with the family. And at night we relax with lots of snacks and nibblies and a few X-mas drinks for mum. lol.
