do you look around at the cast of characters that surround you or do you just look ahead...I was in line last night and I would have sworn some of these people were out on weekend passes.....

Great answers here....I asked this because last night there was this old man going up and down the hot buffet isle...he would stop and look around and then take some of the breaded mushrooms as if they were free samples...it was both comical and gross...

All of the time. Sooo many freaks out there makes me realize I don't have it so bad.
I like to direct the fat people looking at sweets over to the weight watchers section. Sometimes they actually appreciate it.

Yes and its amazing what you see. For instance, I was in line and you had the rich one who knows nothing of hard ship and feels the world's problems is the lack of effort from the poor who they are probably stealing money from.
You got the loud mouth WHO TALKS JUST LIKE THIS EVEN WHEN SAYING HELLLLLOOOOO. Sometimes you have the biker, then the boys who regardless of color now will wear their pants half off their a$$es. OOooo and you cant forget the freeloader, you know the one who has ate a half of pound of cherries spitting the seeds out throughout the store before he has paid. Just a lot of chraracters to many to name but yes I do look around and observe.

I look at the surrounding cast of characters. In my little town, there is no telling who you are going to see. If I'm in the grocery store in the checkout line, not only do I check out the other people but also what they have put into their shopping carts.

I generally just keep to myself. However, if I catch someone starring at me, I will ask them if they want a picture because it does last longer.
People watching is one thing; but, starring and making comments is just plain rude.
I will probably get a lot of thumbs down for this; but, what does a "crazy person" look like? Sounds like a lot of you have problem with people who do not fit into the stereo typical parameters of the "perfect people." So glad, I don't live in your neighbourhoods.

I usually end up in the longest line so I think back and say now what did I forget then I read the magazine headlines sometimes I even start conversations with people - I don't meet a stranger

I can't help but to look around cause I live in a somewhat small town and the people around here are so entertaining to watch. I totally know what you mean about them looking like they are out on their weekend passes, around here we say they crawled out from under their rock in the middle of the desert or it must be the first. lol

I'm a people watcher. Human beings are the most fascinating creatures. I love to look at what people are buying at the store and try to figure out if they're single, married, have kids, ect.
It's a fun little game I like to do. Sometimes I even ask if I'm right.

It depends on the kind of day I had and how busy it is in there.
Generally, I like to people watch. I especially enjoy looking at what people buy.
Like the fat woman whose cart is seemingly loaded up with healthy stuff, then you see the ice-cream and cheese and twinkies and craaaaaap!
Or the old guy who just came in to buy lots of beer.
Or the young teenager who has a bunch of chips and soda, then you see him slide a box of condoms under a candy bar...
Good times!

I look around I like to be fimilar with my surrounding
just in case some ish goes down (especially when I have my kids with me) I know how to get outta dodge.Depending on the circumstances what is around me that will go in my pockets..
or I just bugg out on them
