Wow, I can't believe all the negative answers!

I bought a bib myself once! Normally I have to tear myself from the baby section because I fall in love with everything. It's maternal instinct and nothing to worry about, really. If you spend tons of money, that might be a concern...but a few cute little things here and there is alright.

You'll be a great mom for sure.

My husband and I are trying, but no, I haven't bought any baby stuff yet. I figure I'll wait until I know for sure I'm pregnant, then I can have all the fun I want buying baby stuff for a baby that I know I will have, not one I just hope to have someday.

However, I have started crocheting a baby blanket that I plan to keep for when we finally do get pregnant. I started it shortly after I had a very convincing false alarm (or perhaps very early miscarriage), and was very depressed for a little while. Doing that helped me to get over it, move on, and remember we'll have other chances. It also gave me the idea of chrocheting a blanket for my friend who had her baby this month.

Considering, though...my parents still have a number of things put away in storage from when my brothers and I were babies, many of which I may end up "inheriting" when we do get pregnant, if I want them. So I may not have to do so much shopping anyway, depending on what stuff they have that I like/don't like.

Only things I've really gone looking for, baby-wise, are names.

No, I don't think it's weird, and really, if we had room for baby stuff just yet, I'd probably do a little shopping myself. We'll be buying a house & moving next spring before any baby is born, even if we conceived next cycle. Maybe once we have the house I'll start collecting, pregnant or not. ;)

I don't think it's weird, I don't think it's "bad" at all.

I haven't bought anything yet, but there were a lot of times that I almost couldn't help it! My feelings with TTC are that if something makes you feel better, such as buying things for your future child, then you should do it. It gives you something else to focus on other than TTC.

When you do find out that you are pregnant, you could always use those things that you've bought for the baby as a way of telling your hubby the good news! There's a thought!

It's okay to LOOK now, don't buy big things until the first trimester is over. I started buy things at 20 weeks, after I found out the Gender, but I had been looking at baby stuff the whole time.

I haven't but i have a friend who is also trying to conceive who does. I agree with some of the previous answers - I am trying to get pregnant and I'm afraid of jinxing it or feeling more pressure or stress by buying myself baby items.

I DID however begin to crochet a baby blanket. This way I get to channel some of that want-to-have-a-baby energy into something and don't feel pressure from it cause it's not done yet.

I've been ttc for about 15 months and find it harder and harder to stay away from the baby sections. After I read The Secret I felt better about buying things for my future baby. The book talks about positive thinking, and this is my way of having positive thoughts. I always have to buy something when I'm waiting to find out if I'm preg. It keeps my happy and not doubting. Good luck to you and God Bless!

No, I waited until after I got pregnant and came to terms with it. The difference is you are trying .. I wasn't trying :) If I was trying I would have bought baby stuff like you :)

My cousin did that. She stockpiled for 5 years before she was able to finally concieve. I would wait until after you are pregnant, because if it takes a long time, it might be hard to have all that baby stuff. Good luck!
