I've noticed that a lot over the past few years -- the pervasive belief that if you choose to take offense at something, someone else is at fault and should be/must be punished for it. I don't know where that belief came from, or how it spread, but the more instances of it that I see, the more insane it appears.

I'm not easily offended because I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I also believe that if we all lived cookie cutter lives -- having the same tastes, doing the same things as everyone else -- the world would be a boring place.

You're right. People really need to lighten up. But then again, if I'm going to live by my beliefs, then I should just say people who are easily offended have a right to their own opinion.

Wow -- it's a vicious circle.

No, and I think it is ok to to be offensive at the appropriat times. If someone is offended, it just means they are too immature to come up with a good comeback, so they opt to play "victim".

no, it takes a lot to offend me, you have to really try hard and aim your offensive mannerism towards me directly to get a stir out of me, and even then it may not work.
