how long did it take you to get the results from the blood work. I had blood drawn a week and a half ago and haven't gotten any results yet. I'm really stressed about it because my husband and I just started trying to conceive. I just want to know so I can take the next appropriate step. If you have PCOS and have advise for me please let me know. Thank you!

I had my bloodwork in 3 days, but the lab is right at the clinic. The doctor scheduled an ultrasound within a couple of days of the appointment just to check for the cysts and stuff. Ultimately, while I have some symptoms, I don't actually have PCOS.

I would call the doctor's office and ask the nurse if your results came in.

I got my results back in two days. It should not take that long you need to call your doctor and if he or she is not helping switch doctors. I loved my first doctor, but I could not get any answers from him it would take his nurse 2-4wks to call me back for just one question I had. Did you have a ultrasound of your ovaries done because that is the best way to tell if you have PCOS. Good luck

I have PCOS!

When I got my first blood test with my OBGYN they asked me to wait 2 weeks before coming in for my results.

Then I was referred to an Infertility Specialist, where I had to take another series of blood tests. How long the test results take all depend on the lab - how long it takes the lab to process your blood, formulate results and return said results to your doctor. All my doctors use Quest diagnostics and I always have to wait 2 weeks for results, but never longer.

Waiting is the HARDEST part. I dealt fine with getting my results, but waiting was terrible. I suggest treating yourself kindly while having to wait - and make sure your husband is taking care of you. Waiting for test results which may indicate how possible it is for you to get pregnant is the hardest thing I've had to do yet in my life. I got through it by eating ice cream and having my husband pamper me and watching funny movies.

Here's to you and your excruciating wait!
