If you are ever at a loss to support a flagging conversation, introduce the subject of eating. ~ Leigh Hunt

I think this is pretty good. I am not a really good conversationalist either.....

I'm seldom at a loss for words, I can talk to nearly anyone.
That is good advice though, most of us enjoy food. I've noticed though when we go out to eat and we're having a conversation, the food comes and everyone gets quiet. lol

No, but I've been to a lot of flag waving ceremonies that seem to have a deeper meaning that comes from within. They stem from honor & commitment. Something that seems to no longer exist these days. It's a shame. People live a quiet life, then shopping centers take over the empty land & aliens suddenly become a household word, rather than a thing of fear. It makes it hard to distinguish fact from fiction...for some of us. I once worked as a flagger & hated carrying that stop/slow sign. It was just easier to throw myself out in front of the cars when they refused to slow down & endangered other people who were in their path. It paid well & we used a radio for communications.

I never have a problem finding something to talk about. Work with the public everyday and they all have something interesting to say and I can pass on their news to others all day long. Current events is always a good topic or local news.

Very good advice. I am a terrible conversationalist. I will keep that in mind. Thank you.

No. Normally, I am pretty darn verbose. Good advice, though. Discussing food is much safer than religion, politics, or sex when it comes to causing controversy.

I could probably get you talking nonstop. I like stimulating conversation and when you're goofy like me. You can keep the conversation going for hours. And if you're female and single I could keep the conversation going for even longer.

I know of only one person where I fight for topics to talk about on the phone - and that is MY SON! LOL

He is NOT a phone person and answers in one word responses as I search for something to 'grab' his attention. Yep, food usually does it...LOL

Very seldom run into a fellow listener, if I do we just circulate and find another yapper.

No danger of that happening in my house. I'm the listener and my husband is the non-stop talker.
