Look at the base--either on top or the bottom--and note the sculptor's name and the serial number given to the piece. Low numbers noted with so many created will bring higher value. For example: 711/950, meaning the piece is numbered 711 and 950 pieces were created by the artist and foundry.

Check your local Hallmark collection stores or any retail outlet that displays fine sculptures--whether they are bronze, pewter, or mixed-media that Legends, Chilmark, and Starlite represents. Those outlets bring the best of sculptured artwork to the public.

Yes it is. Make sure it is bronze as there are quite a lot of modern pieces around loosely termed "cold cast bronze" but they are made of resin - even so they still have a value. As someone has said afore me - you need to know the maker etc. My guess on a value if it is an unknown Bronze piece is between £500 and £1000. More if it is a sculptor of some fame

a lot depends on the quality of execution. And also who made, somebody unknown or somebody well known or even famous.
But generally bronze is currently about $5 per pound, so the metal is at least $50 worth.
