I have an aloe vera plant which is good for minor scrapes and abrasions.

How would I cook it, or would it be best to just suck out the pulp and juice?

If you have not tried it, why not?

The food store I shop in is a fairly large Eastern New England Chain.
In the veggie section they sell HUGE ALOE VERA leaves with the veggies.
Obviously it is very eatable, or they would have been sued to death by now. But how you cook it I do not know.
They also sell yucca plant and blossoms, I am gonna figure that one out for my self too.

No I have not tried it because I haven't had the courage to ask the SPANISH FOLKS WHO PURCHASE IT What the heck to do with it.
BUT, I will! I am the prime example of curiosity killed the cat!

Absolutely, you can eat/drink aloe vera. Aloe vera juice is readily available in any good health food store. The juice itself is practically tasteless, so it mixes with anything. The juice benefits any medical problems along the gastrointestinal tract. This is a true story...When I was in charge of a surgical ward, one of my patients was a very obese woman who had colon cancer. She had a colon resection and developed a fistula (a draining channel between the intestine and the surface of the abdomen)...a common problem with postoperative surgery on very obese people. For weeks, the doctors were simply unable to progress her beyond a clear liquid diet, because it would open up the fistula. Finally, I brought in a gallon jug of aloe vera juice and encouraged her to drink a cup of juice a day. Within a week, she was able to progress from clear liquids to full liquids to real food! I saw her a year later and she was doing fine AND still drinking her aloe juice every day.

Lol u don't cook the aloe vera juice or it's pulp ever. All u do is scoop out the pulp and put it on the burns or watever ur using it for but if u plan to eat it or drink the juice then all u have to do is grind the pulp in ur blender take the juice and add a tsp of honey to it and drink up. If u want to store the aloe juice u need to put in turmeric powder which will protect it from forming bacteria or fungus, but drinking up fresh juice is the best thing to do for an optimum result.

I've drank the juice for some 5 yrs coz i was made to drink up by my parents to treat my cold. It's a great medicine and works wonders. Just mix with honey and u'd not feel it's bitterness. Seriously after i grew up i didn't even feel like mixing honey for i didn't find it that bitter and i indeed love bitter stuff, like the fenugreek seeds there is nothing bitter then these seeds. Bittergourd is also not bitter in front of fenugreek seeds ;-)

Newayz Aloe juice is a good remedy to treat sunburns, cold, broncitis, burns, bruises, dry skin, good laxative, etc.

The bitter outside of the leaves are a remedy for constipation. So, if you eat aloe vera, be aware of the side effects.

I've only heard of people drinking it, and that's for acid reflux and other stomach problems. I just use my plant for when i get a burn or a sun burn...
