In some MMORPG's you can get to lvl 70+ in GW the maximum level you can get to is 20, this helps alot with game balance.

And yes, after you finish it theres loads of stuff to do, only after you finish it will you realize thats when the fun begins.

Get the expansions aswell.

@nevyn that isn't true at all... you continue to gain xp after level 20, but instead of leveling up you will get a skill point, which is used to buy skills.

And also, just cause your level 20 doesn't mean you get better loot, it depends on the area you are playing, not what level you are.

A level cap is a limit, given by the game, at which the number that represents your level does not go any higher. After that you have to use other means to adjust your HP and MP.

Guild Wars caps at level 20, meaning level 20 is as high as your characters' LEVEL goes. Depending on the game you'll hit level 20 LONG before you are finished with the campaign's story. However, in GW after you hit the cap you still acquire EXP, when you hit a new "level" you gain a skill point, which you can exchange to acquire new skills.

But even after you finish the campaign there is more to do, like PvP and rare loot.

Unlike Runescape, Guild Wars characters have just one level. Gain a level and your HP and MP go up, you gain attribute points to assign, and gain one skill point.

Your level does not impact the skills you have or how effective they are. You earn skills though either quests, or buying them from skill shops. Skills grow more effective if you assign points to its related attribute. Each two class character has 7 attributes, 3 from each class, and a 7th that is the exclusive of your first class choice. You can re-assign attribute points at anytime in a town with no penalty, allowing you to change "builds" whenever you aren't in acction.

GW does not have a crafting system per say....All crafting is done by NPCs, each of which has different items. You give them the correct materials and a varying amount of gold; they'll give you the end results. The trick is that you have to gather the materials, and find the right NPC to get the item you want.

A level cap is the top of the food chain. In this case you would just cease to get xp. you can still get better loot and things but you would never get past level 20.
