Hells bells, ME TOO. I hate english because I get like A's in all other subjects, then I have that mofo called "English" giving me like b's and god forbid, c's. ARGHHHH! You just can't study it as easily as maths can you? It's all abstract and think deeply about this and think deeply about that. And the essays!!!!!! Don't get me started. I already have ranted but don't get me started on essays!
As much as I hate to say it you need to do the same as you do in maths, practise, write heaps of essays. Sounds stupid now, but that's what you gotta do to get better. And have an understanding of what you are writing about, that makes it much easier.

Unlike math and sciences, English is in a sense, more like an art class. It depends heavily on a person's ability to be creative in the way they form sentences.
While in math or science, theres usually a defined train of thought or process that you must follow, writing is pressed more upon the author, save for the technical grammar and whatnot.
In my experience, people are usually Art and English or Math and Science. Writers tend to be musically inclined or able to draw, whereas Math based people may have a harder time with such things. On the flip side, a creative minded person will have a difficult time adhering to the strict formulas and principals of the more technical academics. Though, naturally, there are exceptions

I'm the other way round.
I'm good at english but not so good at math.
I think English is more of understanding,
i.e if you were answering a gcse you need to be certain on what you need to write for example refer back to the question ect.
To get better you may want to get extra work of your teacher? or maybe look on the internet for ideas, do some revision on the internet, just try and be more confident! x

Its already been mentioned but seriously, all you have to do is read. Although reading isn't what most people see as 'cool' it can actaully be quite enjoyable. In my class everyone who actually reads/used to read quite a bit is pretty good at English. I guess its just familiarising youself with writing techniques, styles, sentence structures, plots and so on.

Read, read, read as much as you can. form a study group with a few other students to discuss the work and also to share the workload. Divide up the topics so each of you can research one or two things and report back to the group. If you have specific questions, ask your teacher or another student who does well in English. Ask questions on here and often you will get good answers. Best of luck.

i have the opposite problem lol
but read over what you're supposed to be reading, and if you have to read a book and are completly lost, find some things on line about it.
and ask your teacher for help. your teacher is there to help you.
and you can ask me, i'm doing well in english
on when writing a paper, know which
there, their, they're to use
and too to two
and when someone asks you how you're doing, don't say good, say i'm doing well

The mind set required for math is different for any language, be it hindi, gujarati Tamil
The language does not follow strict logic and rules. The language have evolved by customary usages which defy logic and it has been different for different languages.
english lanuage has evolved from Latin, Roman , french, nerd, greek persian. The consequence is words are spelled as in french but pronounced as in english . The alpha bet of different source language are different they sound differently. Example the word indu and Hindu are often quoted as persian who gave international name to india. Persian does not have 'h' it is spoken as I . Ask chinese to pronounce the film 'Awara' it may sound like atara .
Ask japanese to pronounce 'fly' it will sound 'fry' as L is not there in Japanese.Listen ot japanese airline announcement .' Hope u enjoyed fright with us and wirr fry again'
Best way to learn language is follow the way children learn language . They learn by listening and then refining. No language can be learnt in refined form.
To learn it is necessary to listen to english channels.
