Remove all restrictions related to age and drinking and let families raise responsible children who don't go nuts when they hit legal age.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the prospect of preventing alcoholism is pretty bleak. It's just one of those facts of life and has been "since man first crushed grapes" :)

Teaching children about the dangers is a wise practice - especially if alcoholism runs in their family. It does in ours, and my daughter has simply chosen not to drink, partly because of my discussions with her growing up.

I have a Web site about alcoholism recovery you might be interested in called new-life-in-recovery.com.

Jesse is pretty much right.

Education about the risks is a great way too. It can never be completely prevented though.
