Sounds like you could use some words of comfort and that you are tired. It sucks, you have a sort of day off, and you are staring at a dirty house thinking of how you should always be working as long as there is something to be done. Well, there is ALWAYS something that needs doing, and somedays, its better to just let it go and not make yourself more tired by feeling guilty over that. You will be sick next if you don't give yourself a break sometimes!
Your daughter is sick. Spoil her instead. Make her some jello or something that will make her feel a little bit spoiled.
Maybe you need to take a rest, take a nap while she is sleeping and resting, just let your daughter know that you are there if she needs you for something. Then after your rest, if you are still wanting to, then clean. Or drink some tea or cofee if it helps boost your energy and/or mood some.

Wow! I kept my daughter home from daycare and don't feel motivated to clean house today either. I don't work outside of the home though...so I didn't have to call in to work. Not sure why I can't get motivated today!!! I guess its like my mom always said .....if you are not happy then you need to just smile and eventually your heart will feel it too. Personally I think it could just be my hormones and it will just pass with the change of my cycle. Just my theory. Why don't you just start by making yourself clean up one room (turn on some of your favorite upbeat music too). Once you get that one done, maybe you'll have found your groove & be motivated to do the next room. Hey! I think I might just try that! Do a few dance moves, burn some calories, get my daughter in on it, bond a little in the process. Wow, I feel better just thinking about it!!!!! Go for it!

I'm a clean freak and am a stay at home mom... so I get sick of cleaning, if you feel like using this day as a relax day for you then that is okay. Often we (mothers) think that we need to be doing something all the time, but, it really is okay to take a day off completely. But, if you really really do need to clean turn on the radio and get energized. (thats what I do when I can't get motivated)
I found this and it was just what I was trying to say, so I thought I'd add it.....
My Child

I hope that my child looking back on today,
remembers a mom who had time to play.
Children grow up while you're not looking,
there'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby because babies don't keep.

Tell yourself you will clean for 5 minutes. Clean as much as you can in this five mins and see how much gets done. chances are, once you start and see what a difference it makes, you will want to continue so your entire house is sparkling! TIP: concentrate the entire five minutes on just one room. Like sweep and mop the kitchen floor, or grab a stack of papers and commit to sorting thru, shredding or filing everything in that pile!
Every little bit adds up after a few cycles of 5 min rushes!!

Just think about how rewarding a clean house is. How you are showing your daughter the importance of maintaining an organized home.
I am a great procrastinator but tomorrow at work you'll think about your clean home and the holiday and how you can actually be Thankfull on Thursday and working yourself to death on a Paid Day Holiday. And not to be sappy but think about how lucky you are that you have a home to clean...

Try to think of your reasoning for cleaning. Are you cleaning up for the Holidays? Would it make you feel better to have a clean house? Just try to think of things that will help you get motivated! Good Luck!

Yeah if you have to go somewhere for the Thanksgiving dont you want to come home to a clean place. Also dont listen to the ppl that are like I feel sorry for you daughter because you kept her from school because they are just ppl that want to look good and make you feel bad...just get up and clean...I hope that helps.

Relax for a few hours. Forget about cleaning the house and just relax. After you've rested up and taken a break, get up and start cleaning away. If your daughter is old enough, get her to help. Have fun with it!

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. What type of example are you setting for your daughter? What decent man will want a woman who doesn't keep a clean house? If you need motivation to clean your own house, there's nothing us strangers can say to help. That's something that should have been taught to you as a kid and permanently imprinted in your brain. We can't revers years of poor parenting n a paragraph online.
