Philosophically, there is such a thing as the "specious present." That refers to a single perceived moment, extremely brief, and usually just long enough to perceive and comprehend a single act; in perceptual terms, no more than a couple of seconds.

In language, as was mentioned above, a moment is entirely variable and relative to a speaker's desire to perform an action.

That depends.

If it is a moment you enjoy, it defies time theory and seems like it didn't even start. Sex for instance... hehe.

If it is a moment you dislike, it lasts for what seems like an eternity. Work for an example....

The secret to life is trying to find moments where time is irrelevant rather than when it exists. Time was created for unhappy people who were anxious about how to fill up their day. Most happy people couldn't care less what time it is? They are too busy being happy to concern themself with the laws of moment and time.

'moment' is an idea stemming from measuring duration (time). There isn't any such thing existing outside of thought. There is no beginning or ending to anything but human beings have learned to begin and end the stream into units by using memory.

Before you were here it was flowing and will continue long after you are gone.

A long time if I'm dragging my heels and stalling for time.

"I'll be there in a moment....etc"

Not long enough if it is one of those special moment that you want to last forever.

A photon flips off 16 times a second. That same photon flips on 16 times a second. One flip either way equals a moment.
