I think it is narrowed doen to the resister block being shot- OR its the resister array by the blower motor (on passenger side) two bolts?
sound right?

Yes this sounds right.
Two small bolts and a wire plug located by the blower motor.
Passenger side.
Has several resistors that look like springs on the inside.
Fan cools this resistor.

Actually that blower uses a credit card type resistor and is in the blower housing two screws.

Yes. It's sometimes easier to remove the motor so you can see the resistor screws.
