I plan to spend a quiet Thanksgiving dinner with my husband. I lied to my family and said that we won't be able to attend dinner this year because of prior commitments we cannot get out of. I just don't want the family "drama/gossip dinner" at my folks house this year.

My BIL's kids. That's quite horrid of me, but two are ..... something or other, and another has some scary mental issues.
I'm a horrid person for feeling this way, but I'm old and set in my ways and I don't want hyper kids messing with my stuff or my cats.
