I am making videos that I would like to post onto youtube, and all of my attempts to ask permission from record labels to use their music as background audio have resulted in nothing (no reponses to any of my emails).
I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a source of music that is without copyright that I can use as background audio, and will not get in trouble for copyright infringement.
Is there a website, or any kind of a source where I can buy or download such music. I would prefer rock, but I am open to other types of music.

Thanks

The instant something is written or recorded, it is copyrighted. Thus you won't be able to find a song that is not copyrighted. (Songs created prior to 1923 have entered the public domain and can be used freely, if you happen to have a version recorded prior to 1923.)

Depending on what you're using the video for, however, you can credit the artist and writer at the end of your video and add "used without permission". This doesn't make it legal, of course, but you are at least crediting the person who created it.

You can buy the rights pre-packaged from Sony by buying the "Sony Loops" and their music maker software. You can compose anything using the loops, or use available loops as stand alone songs.

attempt Amazon. they don't have a great array yet they have been including to it. as quickly as you get carry of a music it does not have any style of secure practices or something on it. that's yours.
