My favorite match by far and the reason I started watching tennis and became such a huge fan of the sport was Rafa/Federer at Wimbeldon. Wow, what a match!!!!! It just had it all... Funny how this was the match that made me such a tennis addict...lol

Since then I had a great time watching Blake/Santoro at the US Open. I think I was up until 1am that day. The other late night match at this event was Rafa/Ferrer... sad with the results but overall it was a great match for Ferrer.

Djokovic/Stepanek at the US Open was another exciting match.

Ferrer/Nalbandian at Paris

Nadal/Ferrer & Gonzalez/Federer at TMC

I'm excited about the upcoming season so that I will finally be be able to see Rafa play in his best surface.

Good question
My favorites have been
Both Murray vs Nadal matches this year, the won at the Australian open which went to 5 sets was awesome to watch. But it was surpassed by their next meeting at the madrid masters where both players played very well and were well up for it, I think at the end of the match murray had won 85 points and Nadal 87 even though Nadal won in straight sets.

Federer v Nadal in the wimbledon final was a great match, they wrestled back and forth all 5 sets, and the standard of play was so high too i think there was double the winners compared to unforced errors. It was a great match which ended 7-6 4-6 7-6 2-6 6-2

Federer vs. Roddick AO SF - 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 - Absolutely flawless tennis. Federer had lost to Roddick a couple of weeks previously at Kooyong, an exhibition event (doesn't go down as an official victory) and this match just showed how impenatrable Federer is when he wants to be.

Djokovic vs. Patience FO 3R 7-6 (2), 2-6, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-3 - The French wildcard, spurred on by his home fans, pushed Djoko to the absolute limit.

Wimbledon final

Nadal vs. Davydenko Rome Masters SF - 7-6 (3), 6-7 (8), 6-4 - In a word - raw. But entertaining

Murray beating some guy 6-0, 6-0, 6-1 at the Australian Open, 5-0 up in the final set...and having a tantrum over it

Nalbandian vs. Nadal Paris Masters - 6-4, 6-0 - a bagel to consolidate his return

Also Nalbandian vs. Monfils at the French (two guys try to outdo the other for bad tennis), Blake vs. Santoro (U.S. Open), Wawrinka vs. Safin (U.S. Open), Ferrer vs. Nadal (U.S. Open) and Volandri vs. Federer (Rome).

Actually, my all time favorite match was played this year, and that was the Wimbledon final between Fed and Nadal. This match had me on pins throughout, the level of tennis was out of this world, and the history behind it was what it made it my favorite match ever. I've been a tennis fan for long time and I've watched all lot of historic matches, but to me nothing comes close to this.
My other favorite matches were:
Roddick vs. Gasquet @ the Wimbledon QF, the comeback was legendary.
Federer vs. Roddick @ the Australian Open SF, this was the best tennis I've ever seen played by anyone. The level that Fed played was legendary, brillant and unrepeatable for a lot of years to come.
Gonzalez vs. Haas @ the AU Open SF. The way Gonza destroyed Haas with his rocket-powered forehand, and along the way he only had 4 unforced errors in the whole match. This was the cleanest tennis I've ever seen played by anyone.
These are the four matches that, as you can see, left a big impression on me.

that federer-nadal wimbledon epic was definitely up there cuz it was MUCH more competitive than people thought it would be (btw wimbledon is REALLY slowing those courts down)

roddick-federer QF at the us open... roddick played about as well and as aggresively as he could of... and federer STILL beat him in straight sets... put it like this... if federer played roddick the way he played against davydenko (semis) or djorkavic (finals) he would most definitely have lost

djorkavic-federer us open final... the final score seems ho-hum (3-0 federer) but djorkavic outplayed him for the first 2 sets and choked away both

i pick these as a federer fan because i didn't think they would be as difficult as they turned out going in and then spent the next few hours riveted wondering how in the hell he was having so much trouble....

venus-henin us open semis... just 2 great champions going for broke
