serious games [I play EVE online] are video hogs, esp. if you're a PvP guy in big fights. In many such games, the fastest system gives the player an advantage.

what happens when your video system isn't up to the job [can't deliver enough frames per second] is it asks the cpu for help. with a core duo cpu, this means that one side of the cpu will become occupied with the video while the other is still available for 'regular' tasks.

your system seems ok on that aspect.

I'd worry though about only 1 Gb ram and Vista. Vista is an almost unbelievable ram hog. you need to make sure that the 256 Mb ram for the video is NOT shared space [shared = same as used by the cpu] or you'll almost certainly have issues with the setup.

my EVE online regularly uses 350 Mb ram running under XP Pro. And I have a separate 256 Mb video card that is churning at its maximum rate while this happens. I suspect that this loading plus Vista will total over 1 Gb and if the ram is shared, you'll only have 1 Gb -- which means paging some of the ram back and forth from the hard drive (which is SLOW).

I dont know if you can get an Asus laptop in india, but they are your best bet. They come with a free 2 year parts and labor warranty, which is like saving 200 dollars, and they are very thought out and well built machines.
70000 indian is 1800 american, and you can easily get what you want for that price. Here are some examples:

Stay away from Dell, Alienware, and all the other companies like that.

voodoo... falcon.... alienware... all overpriced but hey...

imo build a desktop on alienware/falcons configurator print out the specs and buy them off newegg... then build it ... the configurators will tell you if stuff is compatible and you could probably build it for a few grand less
