On the disc it states if it is a CD-r or CD-rw, the CD-r can only be written to in 1 application vs the CD-rw can be written to many times! Check to see what your using in form of disc!!!

If I were you I would just download iTunes and then move or migrate your music over to the iTunes, and it itself should convert the files so it can accept them. Its so much easier to use than media player. Than try make a playlist, and burn it onto a disc in whatever format you want, normal or mp3. But I guess Id make sure you are not having any other disc problems and also make sure you're software is up to date. And maybe try another user. Of course there is reinstalling windows

great burning software will recognize that the job did not complete and try to finish it from where it stopped.
otherwise, this only works with a rewritable [RW] cd.

you can't overwrite it unless it's rewritable. i've done that before and the cd wasnt rewritable, so yeah it's a waste of a cd sorry

Try reformatting the cd and it should erase all the information on it.

RW disks can be reused; otherwise, toss it and start with a new blank.
