OK, there were people before Adam, that is mentioned in some of the dea sea scrolls and even some of the books of the Talmud. In fact, Cain is sent off to live with them and marries into them - that is where his descendants come from. It does not make much sense without those books in the Bible, does it? But that is where he went after he killed Able. Apparently God made some other folks the Bible is not interested in following the exploits of ;). If you want to know more about them and Lillith and the rest, you will need to look at some Dead Sea Scroll info.

Yes, there were lots of humans before Christ was on earth. God created them. Look at the entire Old Testament for their names and stories. They lived the same way we do, except they had to grow their own food and make their own clothes and tools and furniture.
