A man that lived with me once thought that was the case. Then, the doctor put him on steroids -- and he got hooked. Then, he detoxed. THEN, he called to apologize. Apparently, detoxing from steroids is the male equivalent to PMS and he finally understood what all the fuss was about.

No, PMS and PMDD are not just an excuse and I only wish EVERY man could just once see what we go through with this. The only thing worse -- is when a doctor tells you that PMS or PMDD -- doesn't even exist.

Oh, and if you think PMS is bad? Wait until MENOPAUSE!!

No. Our bodies are much more complicated than yours, so more things can happen like changes in hormones throughout the month which affect the quality/quantity of sleep, dreams, energy, pain, constipation or diarhhea, swelling, and hormones along with these other things going on, can make a woman cranky. I think only being cranky is a sign of strength as a lesser person would go stark raving mad because of this condition every month for 40 years.

I dont get PMS all the time or so bad anymore... but ....I am on anti-anxiety medication and take the Pill for the reason of balancing my hormones and stopping period pain.! Even with that army of medication defense I can still be affected by PMS.
There is no excuse to be rude but some times PMS affects me in a way that I am more emotional, more sensitive to criticism, a little paranoid, more easily upset and more easily annoyed or iritated.
The meds help me for sure but you know when a woman has PMS she isnt herself 100% - it isnt her true personality.
For me its like I am hardwired differently. Its not fun and not cool and as my brain thinks differently its often only after it has passed that I can look back and realise 'oh! ok! it was PMS that made me act like that - I knew that was weird behaviour from me.'
This is only one side..I havent mentioned the bloating, sore and full breasts, back pain, muscular weakness, throbbing womb and blood to have to contend with.

LMAO No. I have and always have been very much affected by my hormones. Honey, there are days when I can't stand myself. That day that she's biting your head off all over the place for really trivial stuff...rest assured she's far more miserable than she's making you. LOL Because it's usually not just hormones, there are also phsyical sensations you get that go along with it--I ache all over and I'm so tired I could sleep for a week. Trust me, it's not just an excuse. Give her some midol and offer her a backrub. Or better yet, draw her a hot bubble bath, and THEN give her a backrub. She'll love you for it. ;) Oh yes and I forgot about things like 5 lb weight gain, bloating (to the point that my fat pants feel tight), diarrhea, the need to urinate more frequently....

Not for a minute. But then again, you probably think that PMS is pre-menes syndrome. Nah, PMS is Putting up w/ Men's Schit. If that isn't a legitimate reason to be cranky, I don't know what is.
