I forgot about slow dancing songs-I once slow danced with my teenage daughter in the aisle of a craft store when I was so moved upon by the song playing over the speaker. those were the days!

All Motown and Doo Wop does it for me. Certain other songs will also get me up and out of a chair....Skynard's "Sweet Home Alabama", Pink's "Get This Party Started", Prince's "1999", Henley's "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" are just some of them.

Of course, growing up with all things Irish, I'm also very partial to anything Celtic. There wasn't a family wedding when I was a kid that my grandmother and her sister didn't get up and do the Irish Jig. Can't tell you how many times I've been to see Riverdance...and every time I want to be up on stage with all the dancers!!

I defy any living human to hear "Changing your Demeanor" by the Chieftains and not have a reaction in your fingertips, shoulders, head or knees, with a happy smile. It's on their "Long Black Veil" CD, with leads in other songs by with Van Morrison, Sinead O'Connor, Mick Jagger, Ry Cooder, Marianne Faithfull, Tom Jones, Mark Knopfler and Sting.

There are other rock 'n roll songs I can't not get up and dance to -- Brown Sugar by the Stones, Miss You by them, Lookin' Out the Back Door by Stevie Wonder, Turn the Page by Seger, and anything at all by Leon Redbone!

I love to dance as long as the music's good. Some of the ones I like are golden oldies or old time rock n' roll and there's also some good country tunes to dance to. One song I always have to dance to though is Bruce Springsteen's 'Dancing in the Dark'. That was one of our favorites when my husband and I were dating.
