im making a basket for my best friend for xmass. hes a 22 year old guy and since he moved 300 miles away from boston i decided to make him a red sox basket. i made him a no sew fleece blanket with red sox fabric on 1 side and navy blue on the other, got him a red sox bottle opener for his keychain and a world series ornament since he didnt get to see any of the game. the liquor store i work at used to sell red sox wine but we stopped carrying it but i know where its still being sold. he isnt a huge wine fan and ive never had it so i dont know if its any good. should i get the red sox wine cuz it goes more with the basket theme or get him a bottle of johnnie walker gold cuz he loooves johnnie walker but has never had gold or blue label ( blue is wayyy to expensive even with my discount!) what do u think? thoughts or suggestions?

p.s i was also gunna include a bag of fenway peanuts and maybe a beer glass if i can get one...any other suggestions?

Get him what he likes - the theme is him! He is from Boston and he likes Johnny Walker - that works. I think the peanuts and beer glass are good - just pack the Johnny Walker and the Beer Glass so that they cannot shift and touch during shipping or they may break each other - OK, I am betting the beer glass loses unless it is very heavy glass.

I would stick to the theme, You have many other options that can be added like baseball trading cards, a baseball cap, a beanie with the sox logo, You could also get a mug or cup with the team logo.Make your finished basket appear to be overflowing by adding energy bars, pretzels, packages of microwave popcorn, peanuts, small bags of chips, or jars of salsa. Even Sunflower seeds and chewing gum, especially the gum that comes in a pouch.

Get the clear plastic and tie it with matching ribbons and such but you sound like it's going great!

And get him the kind of drink he likes, why not?! Dont get him something just cause it'll look good in the basket lol .. how wasteful is that?!

Theme'd baskets are so classy and awesome to give!

Nice of you to think of him!

I would stick to the theme. The JW blue is overkill and looks desperate. .It would be a good gift for next time.
