That's kind of a vague question, but I think people hate either because they have been wronged by the object of their hatred...or because they don't understand the object of their hatred. Sometimes people hate because they are envious, and hating is an attempt to convince themselves that it's bad or that they are better than it.
If someone literally hates EVERYTHING, then I believe that person has some deep-rooted personal issues that need to be worked out. There is a reason why that person is so angry at life that they fail to find any kind of happiness in it whatsoever. A good soul search (or a therapist) may alleviate the situation. Hope this helps...

Wow - generalize much? Honey, "we" don't hate "everything." "We" is a biiig group, highly individual. Ever try to get everyone in a room to agree on pizza toppings? And that's just the people in one room.
Personally, I hate intolerance, injustice, rudeness, and that icky feeling you get when a spider lands on you. Now, I don't hate ignorant people, injust people, rude people, or spiders. I may hate what they do, however.
I hate it when people don't see that the greater good is also the system that works best, practically. The world runs along more smoothly, leaving us all more energy to do interesting things, when we are considerate.
The guy who drives aggressively, tailgating and cutting off other drivers, actually makes sure he himself will get where he's going more slowly by slowing traffic for everyone else. I don't hate that driver - I hate his ignorance.
I hate it when people turn up their home or car audio so loud that it forces everyone else to listen to "boom, boom, boom," whether they want to or not. Those people are creating a ruder world and will in turn be treated less well by the frustrated people around them (I know I've occasionally refused to let a car doing that merge in heavy traffic, so the driver created a situation whereby he himself got stuck in traffic). I don't hate that person.
If you waste time hating people, you miss opportunities to improve the situation you hate.

Hmmm i dont think ANYONE can hate everything. just some things.
Maybe because of our free will, the freedom of it that we indulge so selfishly. The state of mind of understanding has been suppressed by the greed, lust and pride thats distorted "our" perception, beliefs and ambitions.

Because you're still young and stupid. By that I mean that there is a lot of things you still don't know about the world. And we love to hate what we don't understand.

I don't hate everything. However, I do get very disappointed and sometimes disgusted by people and events on a regular basis.

Loving is a very difficult process. Hating is very easy. It is within the reach of all people.

Personally, I don't hate everything!
I actually hate nothing!
I find it is simpler to love and to appreciate then putting the stress and turmoil of hatred on our shoulders!
(Wow, that actually sounds pretty professional and I just made that up)
