My baby is 6 months and I read I should give her everything cooked. What about pears and apples? Even fruits shoudl be cooked?

It would be best to cook them since you want to make sure any bacteria or organisms are dead (which happens with cooking). Her digestive tracts needs to adjust to the new types of bacteria that are commonly in foods we eat. If you are looking for her to enjoy cold foods, you can cook them and cool them for the same effect.

No, you don't have to cook everything. Bananas, avocados, soft-ripe pears, peaches, etc, are all foods that if soft enough can be given to baby.

If the fruit is hard, you can either cook it a little to soften it up, or I got one of those feeder bag holders. You can put a hard piece of fruit, like an apple, inside it and the child can gum it without fear of choking on it.

Pears and apples need to be cooked because they are hard fruits. Bananas, for example, don't.

People have servived without cooking for centuries (before fire) without cooking . the cooking kills enzymes and vitamines , notice the push for the raw vegitable drinks (no cooking).
