Because it's nice and warm in the bed, and anyone would much rather stay there than get out of bed where it's cold.

Who wants to pull themselves out of a nice warm bed into a cold room? It's also usually still dark out when I get up in the winter. I hate getting up in the dark.

Cause under the blanket is so cozy and warm, and when you feel the cold air outside the blanket, you so know the difference. Warm is much more inviting than cold.
