I would really, seriously like to know where the thumbs originate from whether good or bad.

i think they should just get rid of the thumbs down option. if you don't like someones opinion then ignore it and look at the next one. but leave the thumbs up because its nice to know that others agree with you :)
If they must keep the thumbs down option them make the person give a reason for it. I think some people do it just to have something to do.

Yes, in one of questions I asked this too.
If we saw who gave thumbs up or thumbs down then there would be a lot less of the people giving thumbs down for no reason.

I always thought it would be interesting to see who gave us what ratings. I know that there are some people who just answer for the hell of getting points, but don't actually care what they write to you. I wish we could somehow penalize them, besides just giving them a thumbs-down and adding extra comments to our questions (totelldatruth in one of ur other questions). We should tell y/a this b/c we deserve to be heard and they have nothing better to do than to listen right? Idk, but I completely agree w/ you. It's time to take matters into our own hands...

I agree--I think some people are just playing around on here and give thumbs down to everyone. I personally only give thumbs down when someone is being irrational and insensitive to a serious question.

That would be quite interesting. Maybe it would keep people from being so negative, knowing that other people could see that they go and give tons of thumbs down. But then again, it could just make the situation worse...

And to the guy who reported that it does no longer impression your score it absolutely does. when you're chosen as perfect answer you receives the ten factors plush how ever many thumbs united statesto procure for that query (as a lot as 50) so those thumbs united statesare good things to grant. the celebrities are in basic terms exciting so your friends can flow decrease back and observe who starred their questions.

Yeah, I agree, but they may not allow it for "security" reasons. What if you could see who gave you a thumbs down and people got hate mail?

i would like to know but if we were able to see who gave us a thumbs down we would end up giving that person one even if he or she answered the question right. it would just cause problems.

It was proposed in the Answers forums. Problem is, it will create chaos among the users now that they know who's been giving them the thumbs-down.
