That sounds a bit far a long for 33 weeks, I would see your practitioner if you really think you are 2-3cm because you could be in preterm labor. Also make sure you really wash your hands before you go sticking your fingers up there.

Sometimes I wonder where people have their heads. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS! When the doctor checks you, he not only wears gloves but uses a lubricant to keep germs out (or is suppose to)!!!!! When he checks he goes in as far as your down below area will allow him. As for telling how many CM you are, how the heck would you know how large a circular opening is INSIDE of you without seeing it?! Doctors usually measure by how FAR their fingers go in!!!!!!!!!!! Leave this to your OBGYN, the professional! Besides, they do not start checking you until about your 35th week...when you start seeing him WEEKLY. Hell, with my frist baby I was 1 CM from 34 weeks to 36 weeks and at my 36th week check up I was 2 cm...37th week he induced me and I was 4 cm by that point. He said I progressed VERY fast for a first timer....

That sounds like a bad idea, just wait until your next visit and your doctor can check for you. You wouldn't want to harm your baby in any way.

At 35 weeks, I was only 1 cm. dilated, now at 38 I am 1 1/2 cm. 2-3 cm. soundslike a lot for only 33 weeks, but only your dcotor can tell you for sure.

You shouldnt be dilated at all at 33 weeks. And you shouldnt be checking at 33 weeks either, beyond introducing an infection you can break your water, or start premature labor.

leave yourself alone. most doctors wont even check you until after 36 weeks, and in most cases not until you're nearer to 40 or have had a lot of contractions.

Leave yourself alone.

I wouldn't try assessing that kind of thing yourself. How the heck would you know how many CM you are? Did you go to medical school for OB/GYN? If so you should know the answer to your question so I'll assume 'no' and say you should have your doctor check. Don't risk infection or hurting yourself!

Get your hands away from your cervix.

Leave the checking to people who know what they are doing, like a doctor or nurse, who would also be wearing sterile gloves.

Not a good idea at all. Why do people do this?

You should be very careful doing this because you can introduce bacteria into your cervix and cause an infection to you and/or the baby.

your baby may need help if its this young please see your doctor. No one will think you are weird or crazy or just looking for attention.

nurses and doctors use sterile technique when they do this exam.

the only thing between the outside and the baby at this time is a very thin kind of skin.

its time to ask a doctor or midwife to examine you.

If this is a serious question, you really shouldn't be fiddling around up there. You're running the risk of introducing germs, or damaging yourself.
Leave this to the professionals.
