Dinosaurs have NOTHING to due with oil.
The organic carbon of oil comes mostly from phytoplankton and zooplankton; some terrestrial organics can also be a source but these would be fine-grained detritus.

Yes, I believe there is a God. I also believe that He gave humans the ability to make decisions and to reason things out. The destruction of the dinosaurs has nothing to do with humans or human existance. We chose to depend so much on oil, He didn't choose that for us. We make bad decisions we are to suffer the consequences.
By the way God also provided water and the sun, both of which can provide energy. We merely have to learn how to do that. He provided us with wind and with hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe, all we have to do is learn how to harness the power He provided for us. We can live without oil, we just have to get off our collective butts and demand an immediate change in energy policy to clean, renewable sources of energy. We are almost there.

"Fossil fuels" are a misnomer. Oil and other hydrocarbons don't come from organic matter like previously thought. Scientists were wrong again (big surprise), you should check out the link about the new theory of how hydrocarbons formed.
BTW, there is a God. Or do you expect me to believe that some random inanimate chemicals just randomly sprang to life under some random conditions and that life just randomly began to consume resources, adapt, and reproduce?

If the world is only 6,000 years old as many religious people state, how did oil have time to form? Is more oil being created today?
Maybe God is testing our scientific method.

I'm not exactly sure what God's energy policy is. Ask Bill Richardson. He might know.

Seems rather shortsighted of an omnipotent being not to plan for the energy needs of 6 billion people.

If there is a God and the Bible is correct, than technically there were no dinosaurs.
