We have a 1993 Chevy Suburban 4x4, 128,000 miles, 5.7L 350 V-8, factory tow package(eng. oil & tran. oil cooler). This Suburban is in excellent condition, especially with it's age. We have 2yrs. & 32,000 miles to go on our extended warranty. Now, my question is what is the safest amount of weight we can tow? We have been given a wide array of figures from Chevy dealers, GM's customer service hotline, RV dealers, the owners manual, etc. Can somebody give me a reliable answer? We are looking at a 26' camper and a 24' camper.

I would go by what the owner's manual states...each model year has different towing capacities based on slight differences in power and gearing, spring rates, cooling, etc... Call some dealers that may have a truck fleet manager and see if they have specs from GM going back that far.

If you have a Suburban, I'd say you'd better start looking at a trailer as campers have no place to sit!!! Tow rating are available at all dealers or in the owner's manual.

Well here's my thought with an engine with that many miles on it if you start towing alot of heavy stuff like boats and campers then that engine wont last to much longer .You cant do the things that you could back when it was new now if its properly maintained it would last well over 200,000 miles without using it to pull alot of stuff unless your just doing this every once and awhile but not like a monthly type thing.

You actual can not paint a automobile as enormous as a suburban for even on the brink of $500. in case you do it rather is a huge waste of it gradual and money. it is going to look low priced and could be cracking or fading interior 6 months or a year. do not do it. shop up and do it ideal in case you will do it.
