If not, here is your chance to speak out.

Suppose I am a local public school administrator in charge of its computer network, firewall, and security.

Please provide your most persuasive argument to convince me to leave MySpace UNBLOCKED for use on school computers. I will choose the most well-thought response.

I'm not really sure on that one. At school, kids shouldn't be on Myspace anyway, they should be learning, however, Myspace is a good way to talk to your friends and stuff so I don't know for sure.

Before you get your mind set on unblocked.. think about this.

Take away all the physical threats of Myspace; rapists, murderers, child molesters, etc. (Schools can be blamed for this if it were to happen).

Now, think about all the viruses in the world. There are millions and millions of computer viruses out there right now, and a LARGE majority of them are on Myspace.

Network administrators are trying to keep Myspace blocked because of those very reasons. I cant see what is so hard about kids not wanting to accept this.

There is NO REASON for kids in school to be using social networking sites. THATS WHAT SCHOOL IS!!! Get off the chair, and talk to someone.

Besides, MySpace tends to have the occasional virus floating around - no need to introduce that to the network.

Kids shouldn't be able to communicate outside the walls of the school without parental supervision. School is supposed to be safe for kids, and the ability to surreptitiously communicate with people (possibly stalkers or rapists or politicians or whatever) undermines that safety.

Now go to do your chores, eat your dinner, tell your parents you love them, and go to bed.

Absolutely without a doubt block myspace. Many of peoples' profile pages has malicious code that installs adware/spyware viruses and backdoor trojans. Myspace is too much of a distraction for students who need to concentrate on school work. Your school that you work can be held responsible for any students that get abducted by stalkers on myspace.

Yes it should be blocked. Kids are to be at school to learn, not to visit MySpace or YouTube. I truly think that the Internet shouldn't be at schools, and nobody could give me any of that crap that kids need it for research, guess what, I didn't have the Internet and we had to use the library for research.

Keep it blocked! No good reason to open it! Kids just want to goof off! No good thing can come from myspace!

The Internet isn't going to last much longer anyways.
