Shrinking is not an option. Unlike desktops, you can't strip parts from a laptop and fit them into a smaller profile case.

You may be able to trade it in for a smaller laptop though. The newly launched Asus EE Laptops seem exciting to me. The Macbooks are available in small sizes too.
