But when i convert feet to inches using 4.9x12 it says that i'm 58.8 inches. I'm confused. Which one is correct?

4.9 means 4 and 9/10 inches. There are 12 inches in a foot, so 4'9" means 4 and 9/12 inches.

You did your math wrong. You should mulitply 4.75 by 12 and you get 57 inches. When you multiplied 4.9 you are saying you are 4 feet and 9 tenths of a foot which is more than 9 inches.

4'9" is not 4.9'
57" divided by 12" is
4 with a remainder of 9
or
4 feet 9 inches.
4' 9" = 4 9/12' or 4.75'
