i'm looking for a stuffing/dressing recipe that uses cornbread and no celery or onions. my mom used to make it and it had very few ingredients. it was pretty much cornbread and some spices.

thanks.

I boil a whole chicken with spices. Then break up my cornbread. When the chicken is done debone it and add the chicken and liquid & spices until you get the right consistency. Then bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or so. 2D

Use this recipe, just leave out the onions, and you should be fine.

2 cups corn meal
1 cup flour
2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
2 teasp. sage
3 medium onions chopped
1 can chicken broth
salt
pepper

Mix all together(except broth) in large bowl. Bake in large casserole dish or whatever you have. 350 til done. Cool. When cooled, crumble and pour broth in and mix together, bake some more.

prepare your cornbread preferably a day or two ahead. crumble cornbread in baking dish, add sage..a little goes a long way....then, add chicken broth...you want enough to moisten the cornbread...you can add a beaten egg if you like...mix well, and place in the oven and bake until edges are slightly brown.

Cornmeal, croutons, dried cranberries, and chopped almonds and lots of melted butter.
