Depends on your perspective.

There are enough huge volumes on the subject to fill multiple libraries, and they all have something different to say (or they would be infringing on copyrite).

From an employee's perspective: management is the ability to get others to do what you want.

From a manager's perspective: Management is a set of skills and abilities that are necessary to make a business or group work, for the benefit of all involved.
